Cedar Point Campground is reopening this weekend

Daily News Staff
[email protected] A popular area campground is set to reopen over the weekend following a major renovation.
The U.S. Forest Service announced this week that the $700,000 renovation project at the Cedar Point Campground in the Croatan National Forest will be completed in time for the campground to open today for Memorial Day weekend. The Cedar Point Tidelands trails will also open over the weekend, according to the forest service news release.
Campers can begin making reservations now at recreation.gov.
The campground has been closed for eight months for the major renovation project, which began Sept. 30. The project included the replacement of the campground’s electrical and septic and water systems, and rebuilt 13 camp sites.
The campground is situated along the White Oak River and is open year round. It features 40 campsites, flush toilets and showers, electrical hookups, potable water and a picnic area. Recreation activities near the campground include fishing, wading, boating, hiking trails and other family friendly activities. The campground also serves as a trailhead for the Tidelands National Recreational Trail.

We have never been there but have revs set up for next weekend. Looking at the pics on the web that it is a nice campground already, so we are excited about trying it out.
Here is a question though. We all know alcohol is not allowed in N.C. State Parks, but seeing this is a National do the same rules apply? I did a search on it and could not find anything on the subject.
