We are heading to Chaco for a weekend in April, at long last - DH and I have live in NM for 25 years or so, and neither of us has visited Chaco. Turns out Chaco is now designated an International Dark Sky Park, and has programs during the year.

Chaco is only 95 miles from BlueWater Lake!!

I might be able to pack a scope for stargazing in June!!

I understand the access to Chaco is not very handy. The main road is actually from the north, 550 - the NPS site has a warning about following GPS and mapping services. Do-able, but not quick.

I read the part about not advising passenger cars, must be a mess in the rain.
