Stayed here once during febuary in the low 30's. This park is rather large with I think 180 sites. Half of the sites are closed during winter. It is a first come first serve basis. Stop at office get map of available sites. Ride around pick your site then ride back to office to pay an register for it. The park is realy nice with beatuifull lake surrounding it. Lots to do in the nearby town of Hixson or drive 25min to downtown Chattanooga. Although we spend more time outdoors than city. Hiking on the Cumberland trail isn't far away. Rock climbing, Kayaking ect. Outdoor Chattanooga is a good source for activities. The park has a huge beach on the lake, 3 playgrounds, boat ramp, bath houses well spaced. Clean place and well maintained. Park rangers keep patrol of the place so its rather quiet peacfull. We saw deer about every evening and the geese and ducks are friendly. Spent one day in downtown at TN Aquarium and shops. I'd recommend this park if wanting to be in the N. Chattanooga area.
