Carefree Colorado Powerwinch: tightened the clutch today as the top was coming down a little and wouldn’t stay at the proper level. The only way that it seemed to hold perfectly, the clutch was too tight and got smokin’ hot (not kidding, it started to smoke). Readjusted and got it to work nearly perfect. So, I‘m curious, is there a sweet spot torque for these, or is it just trial and error? A related curiosity. The lack of hold would only occur when going up. When powering down, it would stop perfectly and wouldn’t budge. Weird huh?
