yeah, well... when I started this whole InterWeb, Texting, Posting thingie [years ago], I though "LOL" meant "Lots of Love"... couldn't figure out why folks were getting WAY TOO PERSONAL with me... but, then again, I STILL seem to amaze my DW with my thought pattern... I've been told that my mind is a very scary and dangerous place and that I should never go in there alone... wait for it… LOL [LOL]

Happy Trails!

PS: @Suebee222 .. nice rig!

Its not funny but it really is. Someone had a family member die and someone was saying LOL on their facebook page b/c they thought it meant lots of love. Everyone else thought they were laughing b/c someone died. haha

I'm definitely not a new camper, I've camped all my life. However I am new to some of the terms being bandied about in the Forums.
A pop-up is a pup is a hard top canvas-walled trailer, right? In Canada that's tent trailer.
Is a tent trailer a TT ?and how is that different from a pop-up?
What is a hightop?
For the last year I have had a vintage 1984, made in Canada, Bonair; it is 7 feet long and adorable!! Attached is a picture of Polly TT (pronounced pi, like the mathematical term!). She is a hit wherever we go!

I made it out camping nine times this year, definitely a new record!! It was the only thing that felt normal in these strange times.
high top is a regular van that made to stand up in

A bad day camping beats a good day at the office
So many of these abbreviations remind me of the "mom blogs" that everyone seemed to do about 10 years ago, and how I wanted to rip out my brain if I ever accidentally started reading one. You know the ones, who would share every single cutsey detail of their precious snowflakes lives to the world, but only refer to them by the first letter of their name for "privacy" lol.

It looks cool, we have an aliner camper, their hard sided, and you have to manually pop them up. Maybe that's where that term for aliners came from? They have to be stored upright, because of heavy duty springs. Weve only tent camped, so this is a new experience for us.

Looking for reasonable* places to go..

A lot of great inexpensive State Parks in N.Y.. Well when compared to Ontario.. Although, with the exchange rate you would get, Ontario Provincial Parks would be pretty cheap for you..

I do have the pass where I can go to Canada.:)

When the border is open again, take a look at the Ontario Rallies.. Normally try to have at least 3 each season.. By far our biggest one is the Ontario Summer Rally, usually held around or near Canada Day and Snows Day ...{ errrr the Fourth of July for our American friends}... Until the borders open, checkout the rallies in N.Y State and surrounding.. great way to meet people...

I like your Awning  did you purchase it and, if you dont mind,... Where?

I don't have the link handy, but if you google "Rope and Pole awning manufactures" or a variation of that, you should find a few companies that make the old style awnings..

Hey @ree... a fellow WNY'er buttin' in [if you don't mind]... if you haven't already looked them up, as for New York, check out this link... https://www.campadk.com/campsitephotos/ .... Dave [the ADMIN] has spent a few years taking multiple PICS of each campsite... has helped us, tremendously, in picking a site!!

Allegany State Park is easy to get to... just hop on the 219 and you'll be there in an hour, or less. Of course, there's Letchworth, Stony Brook State Park, Keuka Lake and Hamlin Beach State Park. Those 5 we've used as our "quick getaway" destinations... they are BEAUTIFUL and they're all under 2 hours from Buffalo [we're Northtowners].

Happy Trails!
