We have two tween age children. Taking their bicycles is a must for our sanity.
After researching about hitch swaying bike racks and expensive rail systems, my husband made a rack for our camper. He used materials we already had, purchased some hardware and made it easy on this short mom to have only help from 12-year-old son to mount bikes on the camper. The first trip from Nashville to Gallatin/Bledsoe Creek State Park saw no problems and promised many trips in the future. The rack can stay on the camper when it is up or can easily be removed. Here are some pictures. He said to note the weight distribution design on the rack.

Nice job, should work well and looks good too. . Remember this: I once had a roof rack on a Jayco to carry my kayak and canoe, the first time we went camping with it, I loaded the roof rack, when we got to Fl caverns SP I set everything up, then looked up and (wait for this now) The items were still on the roof, I had forgotten they were up there, having no ladder, I had to close everything up and lower the roof to get my toy's down.

This is what I was looking for! Great idea! What type of bike mount did you use?

I like how simple it attaches. May just have to steal part of that design..
