Just returned from camping at the Quarry Campground below the Norfolk Dam near Salesville, Arkansas. The campground is nicely situated below the Norfolk dam and has over 60 sites all with electricity and power. The sites are close but not too close to each other. Each has a slab of cement to set up on, a fire ring and a covered picnic table. There are two sets of bathrooms and showers which were clean. Because of the time of year, the campground was only one half full this last weekend. it sits right in the Norfolk River which, with the White River a few miles down, boasts of the best trout fishing around. It helps to have a state trout hatchery across the road (open 7 days a week to the public). Additionally, for those under 16 or disabled, Dry Run Creek is there for catch and release trout fishing. There are literally hundreds of trout that can seen from the boardwalk that goes along the Creek by the hatchery. Back on the Norfolk River, fishing is best either on a drift boat or when the dam is not generating power and the river level is down. All in all, it is a nice place to spend time as we have done the last couple of years in late October and in March / April.
