DC Area campgrounds

Hello all,

We have family that lives in DC and are looking to visit them in July and camp there as well. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to camp close to DC?

There are several
North:
Cherry hill (pricey but convenient to the greenbelt metro station, right off of interstate 95 so may get road noise)
Capitol KOA (farthest away but still convenient)
Greenbelt park (iirc, no hookups but also convenient to the greenbelt metro)

South of dc:

Bull run regional park in northern virginia(close to the Vienna metro station) nice park with a water park. There is a shooting range close by, so we hear gun shots throughout the day, but we were not bothered by it

East
Cedarville state park (electric only hookups are available) near Waldorf md

I have only been to bull run and Cedarville state park.

Pohick is nice and very close to the interestate and to the metro to get into dc. Bull run is nice but Pohick be probbly the best for you. http://www.nvrpa.org/park/pohick_bay/content/features_section
