Can you tell me a good location? Not the cg on the gulf...@ $132 a night we can't afford that!!!!
Might try some of the state campgrounds.
thanks - only one I found was booked.
You can try these to sites to locate CGs
Dependent upon when you go Fred Gannon and Topsail Hill have some sites available
Here is our process looking for a campground. First I check for state parks, second, I go to the goverment site www.recreation.gov . and next I check out passportamerica.com Cost $44 per year to join, but it works for us. www.rvparkreviews.com might also help. Scan all the way down, found this: copy and pasted it.

Geronimo RV Resort is a great, clean, friendly campground. There is no pool, but it's only a five-minute walk to the beautiful Destin Beach. We stayed 7 nights, at the Passport America rate. Saved us $135 off the week. Not all campgrounds accept Passport America during Jan., Feb., and Mar. But Geronimo does. The Office Manager was great to work with, highly efficient, and great on the phone. It is a very pet-friendly campground with access to a very large lot next door at the church. The laundry was spotless, efficient, and less expensive than some other campgrounds. Would definitely camp here again and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

try Black water state park on the AL/FL border...
where in AL are you?
We went to FL last summer and stayed 10 days in Big Lagoon SP near Perdido Key. The beaches of Perdido Key are just a beautiful and less crowded/touristy. Still, we made a day trip in to Destin also, but most of our beach time was on the key or at Pensacola Beach, which is pretty close. So much to do near Pensacola (lighthouse, Blue Angels, air museum, day trips to Gulf Shores).
It was perfect, and we reserved Big Lagoon on very short notice. There's another SP right next to Big Lagoon, but the name slips my mind. Also nearby is Gulf Islands National Seashore, but we preferred the shade at Big Lagoon.
I should note Big Lagoon is not gulfside, so you'll have to make a short drive to the national seashore.
Thanks - Pcola area is way too far -it's over 1 hr drive to Destin.
We want to be right there.
Thanks for the links - I've only tried Woodalls to search with not much luck. I'll check out the other searches
thanks for your links - checked them out....everything in Destin won't take pups. DOn't you feel so unloved!???
Looks like we may have to drive a good bit - looks like Niceville is our closest choice.
You checked Fred Gannon SP and Topsail Hill SP?
