Located on Kalifornski Beach Rd, Diamond M Ranch is a commercial campground catered to tourist visits, but worth a stay for just about anyone. We stayed in the front group of full hook up sites, and the sites were EXCEPTIONALLY wide! We put the rig in, and could have parked the truck on the other side of the picnic table and still been on our site! That's rare for Alaska private CGs.
The sites have 20, 30, 50 amp power, water and most have sewer. All of which worked well for us. The water DOES have a slight tea coloration to it, but it' completely safe. I checked their monitoring on Alaska Water Watch, and they are fine.
We were there Memorial Day weekend and it was VERY quiet. Sure, you can hear the road, but you cannot see it. They have a few bath houses, and a very convienient online check in. We just pulled into our spot without ever going to the office. That was nice.
They have bikes for rent, a viewing platform of the Kenai River and some organized activities like a potluck and community campfire. It's also a working farm with horses and other assorted animals you can go visit.
I will warn all from the Lower 48. If you come any time in July, it will be a completely different place. That is salmon dipnetting season in the Kenai River and the weekends are NUTS in the area. They put folks in their horse pasture (no hookups) then, and it gets full! So, if you come in July, it will be busy, and different.
