Just had a couple of nights camping and testing the diesel heater I fitted, and so far it has been great. Night temps about 5c and inside nice and toasty, I left all the insulation at home and the heater worked a charm.

Fuel pump tick is a little annoying.

Heat output (5kW) works well for me in temps down to the 20's.

So there is a tank of diesel somewhere?

Most of the units from China come with a 5l or a 10 l tank, mount it where it makes sense. A 10l tank would likely last at least a week, they sip fuel. Battery drain is a bigger issue.

Interesting. I don’t know if I’d want the tank inside. Legal to mount outside?

This is my set up, I didn't want diesel inside either. I have used a regular fuel container instead of the one supplied. The pump is wrapped in foam and is quiet. Anyone interested should look at this guy, John McK 47 on youtube

John for sure has the best videos on the web on this subject. These heaters can and are installed in many locations. They are efficient and safe. Frequently installed in campervans, they work great when operated correctly.
