Reminds me of a bear sitting at the bar. One bartender says to the other, You tell him he cut off.

We camped at a state park near Brainerd, MN and at one point did a nice family bike ride, an out and back of about 15 miles. But we had a little startle.

Just a mile or so into the ride, I was the lead bike and saw something coming out of the trees to the right. I slammed on the brakes and a black bear shot out like a cannonball, across the trail and the adjoining park road to the woods on the other side. Couldn’t have been more than 15 or so feet in front of me.

That will get your adrenaline pumping lol. The trail then turned into the woods where he went and I joked that we may be seeing him again, but no such luck.

When I lived in upstate NY we had bears coming into my yard all the time looking for apples under our trees. They didn't bother me so much as when I'd take a walk in the woods and see a very small bear on its own. I'd just stand still for a few and see if mama was around.

Usually no problem here, just leave them alone. If you see the cub in front of you and mama behind you you need to kick the concern knob up a notch.
