Ok so my trip report, ill post as i goes i think. Lol. 1st day from NJ to lumberton koa. Ok , so we made it to lumberton koa. Pads are a bit worn , but everything else is very nice. Private bathrooms, and showers also. You get a private room with room for it all. There nice, and clean. Workers were nice , thoughtful and atually took tou to the site and answered any questions and showed you how stuff worked, a first for me. Ride down was excruciating, mosson type rains, flooding, about 7 bad accidents. One car was on top on a guard rail on the side of a hill or cliff, too much fog and rain to see to be sure. I had my camper hydroplane, yea thats a thing. Dam bridge, a bit of flooding and 40 mph driving to get out of the winds. As my tv went over the hill im guessing it took some weight off the TT , just enough so it slide on the water. From there on it was slow driving wven after the storm passed. But we made it, tomorrow to Jacksonville north, about a 4.5 hour ride closer to the fort! Be there soon! Oh and a found a bit of water in the camper, must have been the wind driven rain where the 2 window panels meet in the middle. Everything else was bone dry. So , im hopeing it was that.

Day 2- lumberton koa to Jacksonville north koa. Drive was uneventful! Staff here are also very nice. I did get shown to my campsite, but that was it. Staff helpful and explained a lot. Place is nice, close to the highway, but thats what we wanted. Relaxed in the pool, nice but a bit cool. We were the only people in it. They have lots of stuff to do for the kidos. Tomorrow the fort!

Ok , so i arived safe at the fort. Took 95 all the way doen to 4 or 5 west? Dont take the last one. Lol construction made it a white knuckle drive, i had to ice my fingers afterwards. Yes it was that bad. Tbh, i thought i was done and the camper was toast. But we pulled through. Set up now on a tent site, i may be able to get a full hook up on Saturday for the rest of my stay. HS in the am. I will say this, the maps here are confusing and the place is huge. I knew this but to know and experience it are 2 diffrent animals. I left the campsite right before nightime for a swim, then tryed to find some freinds somewhere else, i got lost. And really shouldn't have been going off without a drive around first. Not to mention, i didnt have a flashlight. You need a golf cart here. Need , not want or would be nice to have. Its a necessity. 20191029_195045.jpg

How fun! You might do better driving to HS. During our September Bpardwalk trip and our October Saratoga Springs trip, early extra magic bus and boat service was very sporadic--maybe 45-50 minute waits. Happened to us three times. Another family on the bus told us the day they tried to go they complained after waiting nearly an hour and were told there wasn't much demand so buses were infrequent.
Hope you and your daughter make great memories.

Went back to the fort, got our golf cart. Went to the pool and saw the golf cart parade, now bed lol. Were exhausted.

If you're still there today, I'm sure you're enjoying the weather! It's quite cold here (in my opinion.) And probably comfortable for you.

Glad you are having a great time!

LOL @ needing a golf cart. You really don't. We never rent one. The internal buses run constantly to all points within the fort and we just use those. Never waited more than 5 minutes on one. Even so, it would be nice to have one on Halloween for trick or treating. I always stay at our site and pass out goodies. The grandchildren and their parents walked all the close loops, then took the bus over to walk some others.

Im her untill the 9th. Yes its nice today! Lol. The golf cart for the trick or trearing was definitly good to have . We did like 8 loops . The 2000 loop got lots of kids but no where near the amount of say the 700 loop. I gave out 4 of the 6 bags of candy we had( costco size bags) we collected about the same. I gave out glow stick bands to the kids i couldnt see in the golf cart. Some were giving them out , but no one had the wherewithall to put them on. Lol. So it was a fun night. All thanks to your expert advice!

Sweet! Going to be quite cool all weekend and even though warming up a bit next week, still not hot like it was when you first got there. More like fall weather. Enjoy!!! Wish we were there. One month from now we will be.

nice site, full hookup is really nice when you are staying awhile - the more we camp, the more my hubby wants full hookup. he does not like dragging the blue tote to empty the gray every two days - he would rather just pull the plug LOL..... have fun!
