I would rather rent out my toothbrush
Not goin to go there!
The only person I would consider loaning it to is my father in law. He was with me when I purchased it and he is helping me rebuild it.
+1. Exactly right.
I have said no to poeple in the past. I would consider my closest friend but that would be about it. Like it was stated before, all PUPs have the quarks.
I tell my sister (who loves to camp out of state and various places) no about once a month when she stops by and asks or calls and asks. With her being my sister I KNOW exactly how she will treat it. I know I picked it up for a good price, but I have doen alot or repairs and fixes and upgrades.
But we were blessed to have a neighbor down the road give us an older one for parts that we are actually restoring instead. We decided to keep both and use both. Just invite others to go camping with us. But with conditions. We never loan out unless we are going as well, they tow in front of me or pay gas for me to tow the 2nd one, the pay for all their needs and camping spot. Sounds pretty controlling right. LOL
Surprisingly we told few groups we belong to about this idea and we had almost immediately 5 families approach us about "signing up" for a weekend spot to go.
I definitely would not. We have a NTU popup. A 98 Coachmen. My very close nephew asked if he and his new girl friend could use it a few times this summer. We havent had it out except for the driveway runs to figure things out.
We've been asked, but the answer is no. We were asked when we had a deposit on it before we even brought it home. What adds some humor, the ones who asked lack a hitch.
Due to the weather we haven't gotten past camp driveway yet. We scouted a few campgrounds and due to mud ended up sliding about 10' feet downhill.
Not to a friend, family member or anyone in between this is my vacation home I don't share underwear either.
UUUUUUUMMMM LET ME THINK
we work too hard to buy a nice pup for our family to allow anyone else to potentially ruin it. If they want to camp in luxury then they can buy their own!
If they want to rent a camper, then why not rent one from a business?
Never-it is my pride & joy
Nope. The wife's cousin asked me yesterday to borrow my TV and pup because they wanted to go camping for the weekend. He can't even change his own oil in his car, what made him think I was going to let him use my TV and pup is beyond me. I told him sure, you can borrow my tent.
We did once for mother and father. But we set it up and took it down. But prob wouldn't do it for anyone else.
I lend out my spares...
Yes I trust that my friends will do the right thing
To my dad...of course. He rebuilt it and used to own it.
To my mom? Sure. It used to be hers, too...and her new hubby could figure it out.
I would be concerned with anyone else. Lack of towing/backing knowledge and the other quirks...plus, I'm just really particular about it. Not a definite no...would depend on the situation.
I could see a sign like this being of value...if there was an "N" at the end and you could toggle either "N" to have "NOPE" or "OPEN"!
Good One! I like dual purpose equipment,
