Douglas Fir is a primitive CG in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, situated along the North Fork of the Nooksack River about 2.1 miles east of the "town" (a general store and a couple of restaurants) of Glacier on SR 542. It is operated by a concessionaire, Hoodoo.com. Douglas Fir has 26 sites but one is used by the Hoodoo host. Some sites are reservable and some are FCFS. We did not stay there but scouted it and found that Sites 12A, 17B and 25B would be best for trailers. 25B is right on the water but quite close to the next site. The sites on the water are sunnier and those away from it have more shade from the forest canopy. The roads in this CG are paved with asphalt but the site driveways are packed dirt and pea gravel. Sites are generally large and well-separated with pretty good privacy due to the ground vegetation. Each has a table and fire ring. The CG has vault toilets, trash collection and wells with old-fasioned manual pumps. Douglas Fir is at 1,200 feet of elevation. It's about 22 miles up to Heather Meadows and Artist point from this CG.
