This weekend I made a killer venison meatloaf for the family. I added pork sausage to the deer meat and wrapped the whole thing in bacon. It was an easy cook in a Dutch oven and turned out delicious. Here is a link to the recipe if you're interested: http://hometownhiker.blogspot.com/2013/04/dutch-oven-venison-meatloaf.html] http://hometownhiker.blogspot.com/2013/04/dutch-oven-venison-meatloaf.html
I tried to look at the recipe but it said the link address was invalid. It sounds like the dish would be good tho. Campit
Got it fixed now Campit. Give it another try! http://hometownhiker.blogspot.com/2013/04/dutch-oven-venison-meatloaf.html
Thanks! The link works now! Wow! That looks yummy! The key for this good tasting meatloaf recipe is mixing the ingredients together and letting it set for a few hours. By doing this lets the flavors "marry". This is something I would like to try since we keep venison in the freezer. I still like to slowly fry venison tenderlion slices, fry some onions, make gravy, mash potatoes and slow cook snaps seasoned with smoked side meat in a mountain top campground in the fall. Thanks for sharing the recipe! Always looking for new, good recipes. Keepum coming! Campit
Sounds good Campit. I love a good tenderloin. I also scored some antelope chops that I marinated in a Teriyaki sauce and grilled. Good stuff!
