We love Thermopolis for the hot springs and the Dinosaur Center. On previous trips, we've camped out at Boysen Reservoir, but this time we tried out Eagle RV Park on the south edge of town. http://www.eaglervpark.com/ It was once a KOA and has been nicely updated. It's actually better equipped and tended than some current KOA's we've stayed in. The sites are well shaded, the restrooms are very clean, and there is a newer playground. No need for a pool, because you are headed to the hot springs.... This might not happen in peak season, but the owner showed us several sites and let us choose one. Friendly hosts. We'll stop here again on future trips. Note for the hot springs: The state-run hot pools are free. Bring a small padlock for your locker or plan to bring your important stuff out to the pool deck with you. The other hot pools are private with fees, but also have kid stuff like water slides.
