    East Harbor State Park
What a great park. Free launch ramp if you are camping talk about nice. There is normally no line to put in. Sights are par for a State Park,. Lots of activities. Saturdays most ever weekend Pat Catan’s of Sandusky offers a fantastic crafts for the kids and adults alike. Then there is a hot dog lunch if you want to buy it.
Bath houses are very nice and clean.

Very nice park we were there on July 26-28th. Shower house a little outdated but what do you expect from a state park.
we would go back again and maybe the rowdy young campers won't be partying there again, lol

We booked a site at East Harbor for Memorial Day weekend this year. I camped there quite a bit as a kid, but it's been 25 years or so since I've camped there. We do frequent it for day use. Love the beach area and the area that USED to be the beach before stupid humanity effed it up. Also absolutely LOVE kayaking on the harbor...great fishing in that harbor too (Large mouth, gills, crappie, occasional pike). On the big lake can get some smallies as well.

Anyhow, we drove through there on our most recent day trip over and I had forgotten how CRAMPED that campground was. Now, it obviously didn't help that it was one of their Halloween weekends so it was absolutely PACKED with people. Most sites had way more than the allotted vehicle count, along with massive Halloween decorative displays. Kids were going trick or treating that evening, etc. Yeah, it was NOT relaxing camping, but the kids were having a blast, so I think we're gonna try the Halloween with the kiddos this year as well.

As to the campsites, if you're looking for large and with privacy you're going to be pretty limited on site selection. Look at the ends of the cul-de-sacs. Sites are a bit better on the outside of the campground section #1 as well, I think. Our notes suggested sites 105, 208, the end of the cul-de-sac in the 180s, and 129. Of course we weren't able to get any of these sites for Memorial Day, so we'll see how site 127B is in a few months.
