    HI,
We are new to all this and just bought a 96 Starcraft 1021. I believe in New York, any trailer over 1,000 lbs needs electric brakes. Two questions:

    1. Does anyone know if that is true?
    2. Can someone point me in the right direction for finding these brakes?

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Rich,

I'm in the process of adding electric brakes to our 2007 Flagstaff. Check the "need brake parts" thread in this same section of the forum. My latest posts have the information on the eBay seller I bought from and link to pics of the installation.

Installation is straightforward as long as you have some understanding of electric hookup and basic mechanics. The first side took me about an hour, including repacking bearings.

In addition to the other link, check with New York DMV and/or state police to make sure on the need for brakes.
