Deuce (our dog) was wonderful this past weekend camping for his first time. He never barked at anybody or another dog. He loves to camp!
He is am American Staffordshire Terrier that weighs about 90 pounds.

Not trying to offend little dog owners but the little dogs were the ones making all the noise and barking at everyone that went by.

Deuce was very well behaved and he made me proud to be his owner. [:D]

Good to hear about another good camping dog! Our dog, Lucy, is one of the "little" dogs, but she loves camping and just being with us, and she also never barks at anyone or causes one bit of trouble.

May you and Deuce have many great camping trips together!

Yay for Duece! You should feel proud [:D] Any pics?

Our Rambo (Golden mix) was a great camper. He just liked to hang out under the picnic table - never barked. Never met a kid he didn't like :) I miss him...

We had some really obnoxious jack Russell terriers in the CG where we camped last week, Really far from our site but sooooo noisy. They were very badly behaved, fought with each other constantly and yapped all night. After the second day we almost reported them after we discovered where they were camped, but then thankfully they left. I just don't understand why people bring dogs they can't control. Mine are always in control and well-behaved.

That's great news! There are lots of members here who have dogs that aren't good campers for one reason or another, and they have to leave them home.

I have Gus, a Scottish Terrier, who is a born camper, too. No barking, great manners and loves to "squirrel hunt" while he's at the campsite. [:D] He's usually exhausted by the time I put in him in the PUP at 8 or 9 pm for the night.
