Just picked up a new to me 2001 Starcraft space saver pop up. Going to take it on the first camping this weekend. Looking forward to figuring out the best organization for our family and use. It has a solar set up that the original owner installed. The person I got it from said he didn’t know how to set it up so I will be trying to figure that out this summer.

Thanks. Now if MD and the surrounding states would open up a little more we could really enjoy it. Going to have to camp about 10 miles from home this time.

Well I guess need to be more specific when I said open up. I am just ready for some of the areas of entertainment for the kiddos to open up that are near the campgrounds. After our little test camp this weekend and we get everything figured out we want to go to assateague island soon.

gottcha - So Md state park on Assateague?? That is a popular campground - better get your reservations in order. Your kids should have fun there. We have never been to that State park because we have never been able to get a power site and since there is no shade - i really would prefer to have power for the air conditioner. I don't see an air conditioner on your camper, so i guess you may not be as hampered as we are on that account.

Have fun this weekend - looks like it is going to be nice weather wise.

After this weekend we have decided our next camping purchase will be an air conditioner lol. I think we will have to go with a portable one as I’m not sure the roof has room or could take the weight since it is covered in solar panels (that I don’t know how to use yet lol)

Welcome from Dukes Fl. Congrats on the NTU PUP. The best way to learn set up and break down is to take your time and practice. I use a check off list and that has always worked well for me. Good Luck and happy camping

[LOL] - the air conditioner is the biggest reason we left tents and bought a camper..... the humidity around here can make things uncomfortable. Though once you have AC - the solar on that camper may not be of much use as you will probably need to use power sites to run the AC.

You are probably right. We might not need the solar panels if we had AC but if we get rid of the panels it looks like we will need to replace the roof. It was an obvious DIY instillation on the panels. We do enough outside even when it’s hot we really only need it to keep things cool in the evening and maybe for a nap for the 4yr old every now and then
