Hey everyone, my name is Robert and I had recently picked up my first popup trailer. A quick back story, my grandpa had once purchased a fleetwood evolution 2 in Oregon as we camped from San Diego all the way up to Washington. His thing was Toyota’s and Honda 250rs so the ATV rack was huge for him and I was only 11-12 at the time and absolutely excited!

That was 2008 and it was a blast, was a new thing for all of us but made camping so comfortable and also being able to setup and run back into town etc was huge! So onto the current times I’m slowly collecting all my Toyota’s and Honda 250rs that I can buy and the next asset logically for me was a good camping setup, naturally I thought back to the evo2.

Once I started looking, you realize how scarce these style trailers are in the private market and even the market in general. A dealer had an e2 for $10k and there was a Starcraft 11rt and a Baja 10y on the market. Starcraft was a bit more expensive and Baja was still nice so naturally I ended up going to the Starcraft first shot and offered what I was willing to pay and my offer was accepted. Here she is.

And then I ended up taking it to an AZOP race with my 250r, got to get the full experience of how awesome the tent trailer is even with no generator or Shore Power and I was sold immediately. Got some good pics of it at the races...

And then that was the actual last time I ever used the trailer before I sold it!!!!

And the saga continues right away because really I was setting up to do some research for the entire community! I tow with a 2000 Toyota Tundra with a v8 4.7l first ever year of Toyota having a v8... it’s nothing to brag about power wise but does it’s job for sure. The big question is how will it handle the weight? Well I will let you guys know because I just grabbed a fleetwood scorpion s1 to replace the Starcraft! Pics to come tomorrow but it’s definitely WAY heavier. I will most likely add bags before my next trip to be safe but I do have a WDH for it. I honestly want to end up in a scorpion s2 ideally or I would be okay with a e2-3 final setup but for now I need to experience this setup atleast myself and then write back and let everyone know how bad it is with a smaller tow vehicle. It towed the 11rt with the quad up front like nothing was there!

so the s1 being as big as it is has almost a 1000 lb tongue weight, I’m going to try to change some things up and offset that weight but I will be loading the back first everytime anyways. Very curious to see how this does and I intent to clean it up and get it into the next dune season fully setup dialed, and for the mean time I’ll be ruffing it out of the camper on my jetski trips to the river! Can fit a crazy amount of standups on that thing for sure!

Welcome from Awhatukee.

Can’t wait to see your N2U S1. The market is crazy right now. Glad you found what you’re were looking for. Maybe we’ll meet out camping or something.

Happy Camping…[put&hy]

Yeeeeeee haaaaaw! Definitely pushing it currently for younger weight but I will get airbags and she will be fine. I did a test run as is and the 4000lb empty weight is not bad at all on the ol first gen tundra! I would confidently haul this with my toys no issue and having toys on the deck will help remove tongue weight. Going to be making a few mods to this trailer but I look forward to enjoying it.

thanks for chiming in, I’ve got a small family with two kids 5&2 as well as a baby girl on the way. We are heavily into Glamis and racing the ATVs as well so these toy hauler popups work great for my small tow vehicle. I also have a rooftop tent we have as an additional sleepig quarters for guests/family. This scorpion is pretty big but I had to experience it, hope to get to sell this one and grab an s2 which may be the final form. If not an s2 then the e3 will be plenty of trailer for me to work with!

And just like that the scorpion is gone! Sold it for $11,000 and was able to help a fellow scorpion owner by letting him buy the original awning and add a room poles. I had only got the scorpion to see if it would work out for me and be practical but it was a bit much for my older Toyota tow vehicle. Got my dream trailer last week, 07 fleetwood E3! Needs a thrust bearing, and minor things but I’m excited to have my keeper for less than the profit from selling my last two trailers! It’s going to be an awesome dune season this fall/winter. And the AZOP races will be lavish again for the remainder of the season.
