After 15years of tent camping the wife and me finally decided to move onto a camper. Found a 2000 Jayco Qwest In November and got to work on re working it. We had our first trip in it Easter weekend at Shenandoah River state park and thoroughly enjoyed the camper. Still a few things I want to do on it like replace the leafsprings before the memorial day trip, anyone have suggestions on a good source for springs. Hoping I can find something USA made. Camper specs are as follows: Re built the front wall re built door and installed new gaskets Exterior panels repainted- sides and roof white, front and back black All trim removed, sanded and coated in rustoleum Truck bed liner (Love the way it turned out) All new butyl tape where needed and geoflex/dicor caulking new trim tape to match the black trim all new exterior hatch ports and water outlets All exterior lights replaced with LED units except for porch light added front light near battery new flooring painted interior cabinets re did counters with cabinet grade plywood and new laminate Rebuilt the sink box Wife re upholstered the cushions and made pillows new dexter hubs and bearings new wheels and tires Probably forgetting somethings, once I was into it I started improving on things while it was apart. Pretty fun working on this thing. Will probably replace the canvas and should be able to enjoy for a while.
