My family bought our first camper last summer when the local dealership was cutting their prices to move inventory. We had rented a pup a few years back, and decided that we would want to buy one "someday." Last summer, it hit us: our kids are 5 (yes, you read plural--2 very busy now-6-year-olds!), and we can't keep waiting for "someday," -- you keep waiting for "someday," it'll never get here! So we hiked up our pants and bought a 2013 Palomino Y-4102 (which approximated the same layout as the Coachman we rented a few years earlier) which was about as big a camper as my '03 Vue can tow; sprung for the A/C, and numerous mods, some of which I gleaned from you all on here. Since then, we've camped 1-2 times per month through the reasonable camping months, and everyone in the family loves having the camper--even my user namesake, our family pet and mascot: an 8-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Grover. We were avid tent-campers BC (before camper), but now love having the relative luxuries that pup camping provides--including not having to try and stuff EVERYTHING into the car! I've trolled the forums here for a few months, and decided to come out of the shadows. Cheers and happy camping!
