We just returned last night from 4 nights at Henderson Beach in
Destin. This was a great trip and a perfect time of the year.
Temps were in the middle 70's during the day and around 50 at night.
This park is very nice, with friendly host and very clean bathhouses.
Very nice boardwalk over dunes to the beautiful white sand beach.

We got to try out our Direct TV box from home and to our surprise we
picked up the Huntsville, AL local channels in Destin (350 mi.)

Also used my new homemade popup gutter to catch the AC runoff, worked perfect. See plans at
    http://www.members.tripod.com/nccamper/id36.htm Thanks to North
Carolina Camper for posting these plans.

    We highly recommend this park.

Like Khawk said, what a great place to stay. Very clean, friendly staff and beautiful beach. You are lulled to sleep at night by the waves crashing on the beach. Will go back no doubt.

    Khawk,

We made the gutter too, with a mod, we put an elbow on the end then about a 12 inch additional piece of pipe-now as DH begins cranking down the top, I can hold it till we get the canvas inside dry.

Thanks for the info on Henderson, we have been looking for a beach campground in that area to go to.

This park is wonderful. You need to make reservations WELL in advance of your stay, especially for holidays. The only trail is a walkway to the beach. And the beach is excellent.

The sites are good size and some are paved. The facilities are some of the best I have ever seen. It is worth every bit of the slightly highrr price to stay here.
