My husband is a genius! He created this fishing rod stand for our poles so they can have someplace to go other than against the TV or Pup, and they don't get lines tangled up. Brilliant.

Front of the stand. Wouldn't this be a perfect spot for the Pop Up Portal logo? [:D]

    Stand folds up easily.

Total width when folded is about 3".

Great looking invention. I might have to look into making one of those as well.

looks like I have another project to do.

suggestion: Add a string/chain to keep it from opening too far.

Could do, but not needed. Bolts and washers lock the wood in place and keep it from flattening out.

Nice, just if you fill all those holders it may be come unstable and tip forward.

My rods against the camper do get in the way sometimes. I'll have to make my own variation of this since I don't have a table to use.
Of coures, I don't have a clue what my variation is going to look like yet.

That is a great idea, but wow, you guys must take your fishing seriously, that is a lot of rods. Most we ever take are 4 and that's if the kids go with us.

We have 5 grown kids, 4 of them are married, and there's 2 grandkids. So camping means lots of fishing lines.

I've said the same thing about wanting a like button for this forum! :)

Glad you got inspired by Allen's rod stand, and best of luck with making your own. If you improve in the design, be sure to tell us about it and show some pics.

I like the design myself but I have two fly fishing rods that won't work on that set up so I'm back to the drawing board!!! Would work out great for my others tho!!!

This is Awesome! We always have issues with the poles while camping. Thanks for sharing your design.

This is a great idea, I think I have enough wood in the shop to make one, it can /will save the rods and reels. Thanks for sharing

BTW, this general idea works will in the garage as well. I have about 12' of garage wall that has nothing but short sections of PVC screwed in along the bottom. (No excuse about family/kids/grandkids, I just have way too many fishing rods.) Although my adult kids do borrow numbers of them from time to time, along with a boat, or kayak, or... ;)

Is there such a thing as to many fishing rods?
