We always camp in a National Park. No electricity or water hook-ups. Just wondered if anyone knew of a foot pedal powered water pump for the sink. That would at least free up both hands at the sink?

You know, a foot pump is not a bad idea, the only problem is it might be in the way on the floor.

You need to look at some boating sites. Foot powered galley pumps are pretty common.

I just came across this on the Instructibles website. Great ideas there for anything you could imagine. (And many will leave you shaking your head and wondering Huh?)

    http://www.instructables.com/id/Field-Sink/step4/Basin/

It uses a squeeze bulb from a gas tank priming hose and a couple of 5 gallon buckets. It would be easy enough to set up for a regular pup sink without the buckets.

I have a Coleman Taos and this is what I did:

http://www.waynesdoghouse.com/camper.html for more pictures of the installation.

Pump and faucet - cold side is foot pump - Hot side is "city water".

Pump in place. note the pedal sticks out only about 3 1/2".

Completed project. See more info at my web site.
