Well, we are about to enter the DARK SIDE [!] As I mature, it gets a little harder to pop-up. And MIL keeps us home too much. So we stumbled on a deal, and jumped. May 3rd is pick-up day, when we have to say goodbye to our good friend the Niagara. We are getting a Fleetwood Storm 28F (It's short!). You can take a peek at http://www.northtrailrv.com/inventory/search/stocknumber/6231-1?make=0&model=0&used=1&vehtype=1&year=0
It will feel strange not constantly checking the rear-view mirror to see if the pop-up is still there. And we have to learn to back up all over again. You can't jack-knife an bus.
We wont forget the Portal, and will help with manual requests when possible. This is still the best site, and we can't find anything like it for the Big Stuff. Thanks to Steve and all the rest who make this place great.

I imagine it will take about 26 and 1/2 seconds to fall in love with your new home. Congrats and enjoy your new RV.

Sweet! Before you go very far, install a curved shower curtain bar to keep that curtain out and away. Enjoy it!

That can easily tow a Niagra... why get rid of it? It can be the "tent" outside.

I misunderstood something else - I thought your subject line was a typo - meant to be "For our Anniversary - a Bust! Seriously...Great rig! How many years do I have to be married to earn one of these? [:D] Congratulations!!

Congratulations on finding that great rig! Great Anniversary gift [:D] New memories await:) I also plan on going to the dark side, but I have to wait for DW to retire first. Can't decide on a class C or A. Maybe you can stop back and let us know how it's going?

There will be a really, really nice 2004 Fleetwood Niagara Elite going on sale at North Trail RV, Ft. Myers very soon. We are leaving the roof rack, solar panel, Gizmos, Bal Leveler plus all those great mods. Sigh.........

I will miss the windows and open views, but we already have plans to add an extra roof vent and solar. Exciting and scary and overwhelming. Wow sewer hoses.............ewww [:(O]

We will hang around here, if you let us.

If you see the Pop-up Portal flag hanging from a small Class A come by and say hi. Its us!

    We love you all!

    Heidi :)

You're very welcome to hang with the Portal People! Heidi, you reminded me of our tent/van camping days in Florida, probably in the early 1980s. We were with a large group from my work at the American CG in Key Largo, and only one couple had a small Class A "bus" with the rest of us in tents (and DH and me in the conversion van -- kids in tent). Many without kids took off for a SCUBA trip at John Pennecamp reef or left their kids with the adults at camp. A typical "end of the world" Florida thunderstorm roiled up, water spout and all, and we all scrambled into the camper and headed south, away from the storm. When we got back, a couple of tents were blown down, stuff all over the place, but everyone safe. We had a great time in the relative safety of the camper with all the kids playing and the adults admiring the accoutrements (like the bathroom and kitchen). Just keep this in mind: You may have more friends than expected someday when a storm blows in and everyone will be happy about it. [:D]
