I don't know much about geocaching but I'm assuming its like a treaure hunt. How to you geocach? I have three kids that would love this. Can someone please explain the process to me? And where does the gps fall into play?

    Thanks

    Geo-caching is very dangerous!
First it seems innocuous enough.... but you will catch the "bug"
Soon your on the street corner dealing for a new Garmin.
Then before you know it your Jonesing for new a camping location
just to get close to more caches.
Do you self a favor... turn around and stick to watching TV.

My kids are hooked and so is my 75 yr old mom. Best time we had was geocaching in Venice Italy. Some really cool places. We are the owner of one of the few in Yosemite (on private land). In fact, my son is out right now fixing a new cache he placed yesterday. No one has been able to find it, so trying to figure out how to make it clever, but not impossible to find. It is addicting, but much better than being a couch potato!.

We geocache when we travel or travel to geocache. Our four year old loves "treasure hunting." It is a great family game. It was a nice way for us, as parents, to meet other adults. Events we've attended have been very family friendly. We started out this year camping in KOA cabins but just purchased a 2003 Rockwood Freedom 1640 LTD when we realized this camping/geocaching combination works well for us. We went after our 77th geocache as part of picking up the camper so we could claim RI. One challenge option of the game is to find a geocache in every state. We've claimed MO and NH while on trips. You can find us at Geocaching.com, Good Sam and on facebook as Reed2ME.

we have found that the Virginia State Parks are very cache friendly and most have many caches in them. This is what brought us into the PU world. We had cached out all the closer State Parks and wanted to get more of the others. We will mostly be doing long weekends and didn't want to camp with tents on the ground so we bought a PU! We just upgraded to a small HTT and took the maiden voyage this past weekend to Belle Isle State Park. Next stop....Hopefully, James River State Park...bring on the caches! [LOL]
