My husband and I just spent three nights at Geode State Park. There are approx. 160 sites and many with electric hookups. Currently there is a water and sewer issue with in the park and construction is on going to fix the issue. Due to the water/sewer problem there are no showers or toilet's available at this time. It is unclear when the mater will be resolved; the state ran web site says middle of June 2014, obviously they are running behind. The nightly rate is discounted to 11$ a night. Till the water problem is fixed no reservations are accepted and it is first come first served. Most of the sites have a decent amount of shade and are fairly level. The sites with electric are very close together, those without are a little more spacious. While there we took advantage of the 6 mile trail around the lake on our mountain bikes, get trail for riding!!! This weekend while riding we saw numerous people out taking advantage of picnicking in the beautiful park, which is a little unusual. We live about 20 miles away and ride the trails about once a week and never see hardly anyone. The campground was fairly full and all electric sites were taken. We were told by friends there that most of the time few people have been camping during the water reconstruction, but prior to that it was full every weekend. There are two very nice children's playground areas and the shower houses were built just a few years ago.
