About 45 min. west of Madison, WI. Very nice park. 2 lakes, both allow swimming and small non-motorized boats (can use electric trolling motor). As typical with WI SPs, bathrooms/showers well-maintained. Multiple sections for sites. Some heavily wooded, others more open. Good screening between sites where we've stayed in the Cox Hollow section. Small playgrounds. Fishing, biking/hiking too.

Twin Valley Lake parking area is wide open and a good site for stargazing. Staff allowed us to set up our telescopes for late night viewing. Rangers patrol at night and keep things under control.

We stayed there in October one year no one around was a great time, they shut the water off (for obvious reasons) pretty early I think like the last week of October.

Been there several times both in tents and more recently using the pup.

    Great biking and hiking trails.

It's pretty close for thsoe of us in the NW burbs of Chicago.

If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it.

We were there once, in a tent about 3 years ago.

Had a great time, but the toilet/shower was a freaking disaster.

hopefully they fixed it by now.
