Lot of nice SPs up in WI. I'd recommend Devils Lake (Baraboo), Governor Dodge (West of Madison), and Peninsula (Door Co). All are very popular so rsvps well in advance are usually necessary altho some sites are held for 1st come/1st serve. For a weekend plan on getting there Th or even Wed. Haven't been there yet but I hear Andre-Kolar along Lake MI and Mirror Lake (The Dells) are also very nice. For private CGs Holiday Shores and Wagon Trail also recommended. Holiday Shores is really geared for kids-water slide, playground, rec. field, etc. Also have a fishing pond.
How'd my camper get in your driveway?? Welcome from SE Wisconsin just outside Milwaukee.
ghacker is correct we have GREAT state parks! Most in SE WI [accessible to those from IL] will fill fast.

We've been tent campers for years, but sleeping on the ground got really old!
We've been to many of the sites mentioned. Kohler-Andre ST is one of our favorites, excellent area for beach walking and almost always 10-15 degrees cooler than inland parks. Thanks for the info.
