Hey WrenchGear - those pictures are similar to the ones up here in the Peterborough area, as I watch more snow coming down. Only supposed to get around 15cm today.....

Wiarton Willy better get his predictions right! I'm done with winter!

SidecarMike - I lived in Thunder Bay for 5 years while attending Lakehead University......loved the winters up there! Lots and lots of snow!

WIARTON, Ont. - Canada's major prognosticating rodents provided a split decision on whether the country is in for an early spring or six more weeks of winter.

Ontario's Wiarton Willie emerged from his cozy den Sunday morning and immediately spotted his shadow, which according to groundhog folklore means Canadians can expect six more weeks of what has already been a long, cold, snowy winter.

Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam was the first groundhog out, delivering a promising forecast for winter weary Canucks after he did not see his shadow - signalling an early spring.

**** So there you have it... which one to put in the cook pot, the one who is wrong, or the one who is lying? [sf] [SUN] [{}=] [SUN] [{}=] [sf]

I like it. If we ate the ground hog, people get offended. If the wolf eats him, that's ok, because it's natural. [LOL]

Um, yes. Makes me so much more thankful for SA or any south Texas area. Brrrrr. I don't think I would ever leave the house.

And all that snow y'all show? I just have no comprehension. Kudos to you. Seriously. (and my dh grew up in the mountains in PA so he tells me but it just doesn't register to this southern girl).

Wendy, you can keep your triple digit summer temps, can't shovel those out of the way! I like winter, but this one just refuses to go away! [:(O]

Okay, you have a point with that one. It's a trade off. Maybe we need to move to middle ground. lol

And actually, we have had some coldest temps on record for some days. This winter has been brutal to us, too (in our way, of course).

I was in SA many years ago when there was an ice storm and the temps dropped into the 20's. It was definitely...interesting.
