hanging pantry coleman pup?

Having just purchased a Coleman/Fleetwood Utah, I was wondering if anyone has seen/made (etc) anything for the Coleman campers that resembles the "hanging canvas pantry" that is available for the Forest River PUPs?

I don't even know how you'd hang it... Lots of Suction cups? <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Smile">

We looked for the hanging pantry for our SantaFe, Fleetwood doesn't offer one as an option, so we purchased one from the Forest River dealer. It works great, and is hung up with hardware that came with it.

Joe, Thanks for the info... wasn't aware that the Forest River Models didn't already have hanging hooks...

Ray, that is what heck of a mod... Looks great. A little bit above my abilities <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Smile">. Good job.

I bought a version of a hanging pantry at Bed Bath and Beyond. We hang it on the clothes hanger where we use it mostly for clothes.

Hey mtn bikers and Lito, do either of you have photos? That sounds like something I would like to do. I would like it on the smaller side though. We are hoping to get a N2U 1983 Starcraft and I don't know how good the top is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes. I don't know how to insert a link, but search here for "DW's new kitchen idea" under the My Favorite Mods forum. It is an idea that I came up with after we bought our PUP and my DH helped me create. There are photos and complete explanation about how to do it. $20, a drill, and a couple of steel rods, and you will be in business! Good luck.

I apologize. I'm at work, and I really don't have time to figure out how to link it in correctly.
Search for "kitchen shelves" and limit the search to the last 120 days. It was posted on Jan. 26. That should take you to it. It really is a sweet idea, and we have used it on 4 trips since Jan. with great success.

That's nice recumbentman... I'm not very handy, so my first read through I don't understand your last comment about the screws.

I'll re-read when I get home... hopefully it makes more sense then <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Big Smile">

Hey Denise... That's fantastic... and for $20 plus the rods...

I'll just have to find a place in Canada that sells something like that, as I don't believe we have BB&B here.

But I could be wrong.

Typan,

you may be the new winner... that is something that even I (not very handy) could do, and it gives lots of extra room.

Very sweet... I'll be bookmarking that...

Thanks (and to all others who responded).

I have great lust for the Forest River hanging pantry.

And I tend to read "griddle" as "girdle." Which confuses me greatly, because I can't figure out why anyone would want to carry a girdle with them while camping, much less actually use one.

Thank you Northern Camper. I just completed this shelf and it works great. I built mine alittle different though. I used u bolts like the ones pictured here. You can get them at any hardware storehttp://www.boltdepot.com/u-bolts.aspx?wt.srch=1 to hold the shelf bracket and poles together. That way you can still adjust the poles.

Hey Typan,

This may be a pointless question...

but Gravity being what it is, how do keep the shower poles from "shrinking".

Going off to play with my Shower Rod to see if it locks.

We'll see how Csea and becasunshine interpret that <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Cool">

If you get the twist shower poles..and that is the only kind to get..just twist until tight..until you just see that the ceiling is being pushed slightly. And with the poles bring in the little cups it can't go any where. As long as you do not raise the roof any..LOL..
