So last week at the campground, I was watching a rerun of an early Hee Haw episode when Roy Clark introduced Hank Jr. It's not a great photo, but ol Hank has changed just a little in the 40 years since.

Neat lol, Hee Haw was a cool show, kinda like a country version of the Smothers Brothers...Mom & Dad used to go see Hank Sr at the Louisiana Hayride when we lived there, & Hank Jr had a bar at 1 time somewhere around Paris Tn best I remember; went back in the Army in the early 80s & we'd leave Ft Campbell & hit Land Between the Lakes for a few days to camp & fish on free time...

Most was before my time, but still watch Hee Haw, sometimes the only wholesome thing on the tele. But then again I'd also pay more dearly if they'd put Benny Hill back on! But then again Benny's not exactly the most family friendly program either. Super proud I inherited my father's taste, that I know who Ernest Tubbs, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and my favorite Marty Robbins are ! Thank you Pop

I met Hank a couple of years ago. A good friend of mine from high school is his personal pilot and has known Hank for over 20 years through other business dealings. Hank's persona on stage is the same as in person - bigger than life.

And speaking of Hee Haw, it is Roy Clark's birthday today![CC]

Worked with a guy who did some clogging on Hee Haw as a kid :)

Grew up on Hee Haw, Porter and Dolly, the Donny and Marie Show... and then as a young teen, SCTV :)

My son is stationed at Fort Campbell. We gave him our old pup and he loves going to Land Between the Lakes. We were supposed to go camp there with him this month but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Another Benny Hill fan! I grew up watching that show, among others. Also enjoyed the Carry On movies from that era too.

Another later British comedy "Are you being served?" was a hoot as well.

Yes, another one that was in the rotation. Also watched Blakes 7 for my sci fi fix, Tom Baker was my Doctor, stayed at Fawlty Towers for a spell. Also Dad's Army, The Defenders and The Saint. Good stuff.
