Being that we are NW Ohio residents I think this will become our default camping area (with Sauder Village in Archbold being a second choice). Its a nice drive from home base and is a really beautiful little park. Yet its big enough that the kids can spread out and explore.

The beach is small but very nice with sand that is good for playing in. The water quality was good but the cold currents that waft through can take your breath away before they refresh you.

There's plenty of places to access the water for fishing including a lot of shady spots. It has three playgrounds of varying quality and age with plenty of open spaces to play on your own. The lack of light pollution also gives you a great opportunity for stargazing. The boy and I also felt very safe going on a midnight walk.

The sites are decently spaced on the North Campground. The South sites are closer but would be perfect for lining up gatherings for fellow campers. 212S through 214S are probably the best sites in the park being situated on a 15' overlook.

Also, the shower house on that side is a lot newer for what its worth. Not to say the shower house in the North camp is something to be afraid of. Its clean and there are more showers available, 7 or 8 as opposed to 2 or 3 at other places. The small bathrooms are tight so be aware with your wheelchair bound kin.

Overall its a great place to relax and enjoy the underrated splendor of an Ohio evening!
