Does anyone have any experience with Wakeda Campground in NH? We will be passing through this summer on our way to Acadia and would like to stay somewhere near Hampton Falls, NH along our travel route.
I did a drive through a few years ago. It's a big campground, in a small space. I think like 300 sites. sites are right on top of each other, and 85-90% are seasonal sites. That being said, it did appear to be a very clean, well kept campground. And although we decided not to camp there at the time, I certainly would not want to steer someone else from camping there, because who knows we may decide to give it a try some other time.
Thank you for the information. We are traveling in July and I was afraid to go through that area without reservations, just in case. Really appreciate your reply. I shouldn't admit this but it was the picture of their mascot in the online flyer that drew us to consider the place. Wishing you a great camping season!
Update: Stayed at Wakeda Campground in New Hampshire in July, 2017. It is a very pretty campground with a lot of pine trees. Because I was traveling with a 15' Aliner, they put us in a tent section which was interesting because the tents all had electric service and people were traveling with extension cords - microwaves, coffeemakers, radios, electronic devices for the kids. It's been 50 years since I was camping with my siblings and parents in a tent and or camper - a whole new world - but I like it. I like my electric hair dryer and ..........................
Coin operated showers at the time of our trip. Not sure if that will be the case next year. It was only 25 cents and the water ran for plenty of time. All in all, it was very nice.
We've stayed at Wakeda on tent sites, not the ones with hook-ups, for twenty years. My in-laws had a seasonal up there for many years, now they go once a year with their travel trailer. We like it. The sites are usually well maintained and it tends to be a quiet crowd.
