Has your state tentatively posted when parks will open back up?

A very few New Mexico State parks have opened for day use. out of state travel is discouraged. National forest and wilderness areas are open. But nothing that's improved, even minimum improvements, such as vault toilets and fire pit campgrounds are open. bathrooms are also closed. It's ok with us, we almost always disperse camp along forest roads anyway. Las week we had a blissful 4 days out and didn't see another camper. we fished and kayaked and hiked at a lake. It was my mother's day request, and it was just wonderful! our 85 Avion never ceases to amaze me with it's ease of towing and ability to get into the back roads. when we set up camp, we enjoy exploring without the trailer, to find good spots to camp next time.

@penny - I'm glad it's going well in your section of the state. I just read a couple of reports a friends posted and the Jemez area isn't doing so well - reports of fights over campsites, illegal campfires (since we're in fire restrictions pretty much, if not, all over the state), etc. That section can be overwhelming on holiday weekends, as we found out around 30 years ago (we haven't returned to camp the area except to backpack San Pedro Parks since), but it sounds like people are just being ugly about the closure and fire regs.

Social Distancing? LOL! I just was dragged kicking and screaming into a Walmart. Why did they make the aisles one way? No one follows them. Why do they have yellow tape on the floor 6' apart at the checkouts? No one pays much attention to those either. Seems like a waste of decals and tape. And the toilet paper shelves.....still bare......but only at Walamart and not other large grocery stores around the area. I guess people are still frugal when scarfing up toilet paper. The parking lot had lots of discarded masks blowing around.....wonderful.

Anyway this coming Friday it looks like most PA State Campgrounds are open except for in the SE corner.

Residents only? Now that makes about as much sense as teets on a bull. I say that because being used to the stricter than most edicts issued in PA by our government in Harrisburg, a coworker and I had a good laugh in Morgantown WV the other week. We stopped at a Sheetz store, donned our wonderful masks to stay safe, and when we walked in we we're the only 2 of at least 25 that had them, including the folks working there. We were looked at like we were Frank and Jesse James lol. No masks required we were told.

Then again, I heard WV banned PA residents from crossing the line to buy liquor in WV when the shut down of our state owned monopolized liquor stores.

This is the email our buddy sent us who works for the state of WI parks. Of course its not very helpful. [?:~{]

I work there and I don't know.
State Parks are closed to the public on Wednesdays for maintenance.
Parks are closed for the day at 7pm.
No day passes, it's pay for the annual sticker over the phone or leave the park. The statewide 800 number is always busy according to those I have encountered trying to do as instructed. If you do not have the local park number, you are out of luck or in violation if you go in.
If the office closed situation remains, how do you pay for camping come May 26? The self registration option is also closed now.
When does the above change? I work there and I don't know.
Maybe some news turns up soon.
I know, this makes it tough to plan anything.

Time to go to the laundromat.

Florida state parks opened yesterday for camping. We have reservations upcoming. I've gotten several emails from them about the new rules.

*Self contained units should use their own facilities.
*Social distancing rules and groups less than 10 apply.
*One person at a time in the check-in office.
*Don't touch anything [LOL] I forget how they phrased this, but that's basically what it says.
*Residents of NY, NJ, CT, and LA are subject to 14 day quarantine before being allowed to check in, but no-penalty refunds are offered.

In a compleate 180 , state campgrounds remain closed. Lol. Welcome to NJ. Private campgrounds can reopen. So there is that. https://www.nj.com/news/2020/05/sor...e-state-public-campgrounds-remain-closed.html

WTH? I know that made a lot of people mad!

It reminds me of one of our counties down here. They made a rule that everyone had to wear masks there. Then in ONE DAY, they had two meetings that reversed the decision and then re-reversed it. [LOL] I don't even know where they are on that situation right now. They were having another meeting the following day to possibly re-re-re-reverse the decision. Nobody knows what's going on from minute to minute.
