Rarely where more than shorts, flip flops or slides, and maybe a T-shirt. Personally think clothes are over rated anyway, but there are some areas I tend to protect from biting insects.

Once a year the wife and I try to camp in a new spot without the kids. We spend all day Saturday touring wineries or spending the day in a quaint town, and when we get back to camp have a bottle of wine we purchased by the fire or pick up steaks at the local meat market to grill.

Typical camping is fishing, hiking and being dirty, but we really look forward to that trip and dress up nice for the day.

We got out of our popup at a campground and were surrounded by other campers in tuxedos and gowns. Turns out it was a campground located next to a massive event.

This would have been me if my brother decided to get married anywhere but home. I figured I can save a ton of money by camping, but that would mean I’m dressing up in my heels and gown right there at the campground. When he announced the venue I was relieved but at the same time bummed as I missed out on a potential camping trip.

When I was in Boy Scouts, my buddy and I picked up tuxedos at Goodwill for a few buck. During camporees (multiple troops camping together), we would grill steaks, bake potatoes, and set up a table with a white table cloth and candles. We were quite a sight! Haven't talked to DW about doing that, but maybe I will lol.

We camped at Jekyll Island for a Marriage Enrichment conference once. Everyone else stayed at the fancy hotel. There was a formal dance one night and we dressed to the nines. Wife had a hard time with make up and hair in the popup. We only have a tiny mirror.

Like @MNTCamper , we camped for a couple of out-of-state weddings. It was great. But wife and daughter were not thrilled with the getting dressed + made up in the Popup.

Love the tonung in cheek humour. Life is too short to be serious all the time.

In short, only once. My wife and I had to attend a funeral very close to where we were camping and we brought the proper attire. Other than that, just camping clothing.

We dress according to the occasion and think nothing about the attire being different from the casual stuff we normally wear when camping. The best such trip was to the DC area for my nephew's wedding. We were going to be there for most of the week and got 3 sites together at Fairfax Lake Park for the 5 children and 6 adults in our group. Our son's girlfriend was a first time camper and had so much fun she bought a tent when she got home.

Yep, gotten dressed up many of times when camping. Including one time; white shirt, suit and tie. When we take long trips we normally take at least one set dress up casual.

Does when I wear one of the wife's sundresses and her high heels at the campground count?

Does a tuxedo t shirt and pants count as dressed up?

Oooo, if you’re a Mister sister, this would cover you for BOTH dress up AND woodland creature at SOTF!
