We have reservations in 7 different state parks in Florida then up to SC, Virginia and finally Delaware before we head home at the end of April. I can’t wait to get back on the road.

I actually stay at the Lumberton 1-95 KOA on the way down, be there on the 24th. I'm sure it will be warmer than Maine.

Tried getting in there a few times, but always booked when I can get off. Did Myrtle Beach once, not our scene.

Yeah, I did a motorcycle camping trip a few years ago from Maine to Florida. Went down via the Blue Ridge Parkway and came back
along route 17 through GA the Carolina's and the Outer Banks . I went through Myrtle Beach, seemed a little honky tonk for me.
I'm sure that some people have a wonderful time there but I like things a little quieter. Huntington Beach SP seems really nice.

Oh yes, It's a campy tourist trap you need to visit. I think a picture of your popup in front of Pedro needs to be uploaded to your profile during the trip!

I've grown to hate the beach over the years. Last year we stayed at Oregon Inlet. I found a beach that I enjoy again.

Best advise I have is to be prepared for wind. I posted a review of it. The ocean side of the B loop is farthest from road and beach access noise, but are dry sites.

Is the wind seasonal or constant.

We've only been once and I had the same question. From the people I talked with and the reading I done you can expect windy days all year. Many businesses are centered around the windy conditions. Our time there we had one morning of still conditions. If you come prepared it isn't hard to deal with. Bring plenty of stakes and cord to try down your stuff. I wouldn't recommend deploying a bag awning unless it has a screen room zipped on to it to anchor it to the ground. EZ-ups and the sort need to be anchored in all directions as the wind tend to shift. I wasn't happy that they don't allow campfires. After being there and seeing the conditions I agree with not allowing them. The with the wind and grass a fire that got away would be a disaster before an firefighters could reach it.
