My husband and I just purchased a 2012 Aliner expedition. We were fortunate enough to go on our first camping trip last week-end with 9 couples from our church. Being complete newbies, everyone was so kind to help us get hooked up. Had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go out again. I found out that all the campsite reservations open up Jan 1st and get all snapped up immediately. We would really love to try boondocking. We moved to Idaho 2 years ago and there is so much to see in this beautiful state. We love this website and have gained so much information and knowledge. It is truly a blessing!

Former Idaho guy here, nice to have you on board. Spent 11yrs in the Boise area and can recommend a few places. I spend my time in Montana now, but looking to purchase some land near Bear Lake. I travel to Idaho Falls frequently, too, for family. What neck of the woods are you in?

We live in Meridian. I have never been to Montana and I can’t wait to visit. One of our first visits was to shoshone Falls and we have explored Thousand island parks. Gorgeous! I would greatly appreciate some recommendations for camping! Thank you!

Hands-down, my favorite place to camp was Silver City because it literally looks like something out of Little House on the Prairie. Everything up there is exactly how it was back in the 1800's. There is a no-fee (14 day limit) BLM campground just beyond the old mining town that has 2 different areas to camp at, complete with picnic tables and fire rings. There is also a single vault toilet up there, too. Each of the 2 areas has several sites available, so there should be plenty of options on any given day. The first area is right on the main dirt road across from the toilet, the second area requires you to cross a creek to get to it. Highly recommend a vehicle and trailer that has some ground clearance as there are rocks and ruts to deal with. Also, depending upon the time of year, the water in that creek can get high enough to soak the insides of your trailer if it rides low.

My dirt biking partner and I loved this area for all of its ATV trails (and some single-track) and history. When with my family, we loved hiking the cemeteries looking for the oldest or oddest written stonework. We saw one that had a child's name on it, 7yo.....killed by indians. Just so much to see up there. Around Labor Day weekend, they hold a fundraiser for the the winter watchman and open up businesses and homes for people to walk through. If you haven't been, I recommend checking it out. From Meridian, head out to Nampa on Hwy 12 for about 45min and you'll see the turn off.

Welcome to the Aliner family from AZ.

Plz check out the Aframe section for lots of ideas and information. Also check out YouTube for great Aliner videos on care and maintenance by “Going Nowhere Fast”. Rick has lots of useful information. And also checkout “A Technician’s tour of an Aliner Expedition.” It’s not the same year as yours but the technician gives lots of valuable information on your model.

    Glad you joined us.

    Happy Camping...[ALPU][PUT]

Thank you so much for the information on Silver City! We will definitely plan a trip there. Today we spent 6 hours driving to crouch, Garden Valley, Lowman, and Idaho city for camping sites. We are so excited for all the possibilities!
