Hello all. I've been lurking around here as a guest for awhile and this seems like a cool place. Been a camper most of my life. Started out in tents, then moved up to popups. My current camper is a little 1998 Skamper 17A. Most of my trips are weekend outings within an hour from home but usually find time for a couple of longer trips several times a year. Looking forward to contributing to the conversations here. I've already learned a lot from lurking. Greetings, Eric
Welcome from Northern NJ! We just came back from a trip to your state. It wasn't camping, but we had a good time up there. We stayed in Stanwood at the Inn at St. Ives for a week.
Thanks all for the welcomes. Friartuck, and Lloyd B. Where in the thumb do you folks like to camp? I like Wagener county park in Huron Co. and Evergreen park in Sanilac Co. Wagener is right on the lake and Evergreen is on the Cass river close to my home.
Hi Eric, I haven't camped in any of them, but have been really looking at Huron County parks, and plan to check out a couple of them. Friartuck and I both have reservations for the Michigan Rally in June at Holly State Park, looking forward to it, it will be my first time at a pup rally, we also like Metamora State Park, and Hartwick Pines, and Lakeport State Park north of Port Huron.
Wagner for sure. (and Port Crescent. Love Port Crescent.) As Lloyd B said, come on over to Holly for the rally. The Trillium loop is full, but the other loops are close and it is a good time . . . (just watch out for the 'squatches!)
