I am Robert and live in the Houston, Texas area. I am 68 have just bought a 1990 Coleman Columbia Pop-Up on 12/24/2018 and am excited. I got it from a friend and even there are a few holes in the canvas, the top is solid and has no leaks and the floors are good. Now to find an awning. I have some tires on order and pan to patch the canvas and clean it up and hope to have a lot of fun with it. It has no a/c or heat but if we like it, we can add a unit later on. I my use a portable a/c unit for now as in my area, it gets very hot in the summers. If I have really love it, I can always re-canvas it and do a lot of upgrades to it, but now I just want to enjoy it and see how I like it or not. I have posted the photos of my score and will call it “The Wanderer.” camper1.pre.jpg cmper5.pre.jpg

Welcome from N/W Fl Panhandle. I am 75 and still enjoy camping you will love the PUP. You will want an AC for sure. I was stationed on a Navy Ship home-ported in Galveston (The Texas Navy) and I agree with you it gets awfully hot. BTW I lived in Hitchcock while stationed there. Texas has some great places for adventures and to make memories. While you are cleaning, etc. think of the things you can do to "make it your own" Good luck and Happy camping

Hi Robert. Welcome from Oklahoma. I have an awning I took off an '89 Royale you can have for free. Shipping cost is expensive. I don't know about the TX rally, but wish I could get it to you somehow.

Congratulation on the NTU Pup and Welcome to the forum from Midway USA.

If you get half as much enjoyment from your Pup as DW and I got from ours, you're in for one heck of a good time. [:)C]

Well, I went to Oklahoma City for law school and my mom and her parents were from there. It would be a two day trip day so I could go there if that is OK with you. I have tires on order and still need to have it tagged so it would need about 2 weeks before I can go there. And it would need to be more warm and I know how Oklahoma winters are. And that would a nice maiden trip to break it in.

Sure you're welcome to pick it up. I hope to be camping in the Atoka area the weekend of the 11th, weather permitting. I don't mind to meet you somewhere. I've never had it out of the bag. I bought the junker pop-up for parts.

Thanks. I don't drink beer though. I won't guarantee the shape it's in. It was too long for my pup so I just put it in storage. We can PM each other to make arrangements, especially if the weather gets too bad to camp.

Yea, I gave up alcohol about 6 or 7 years ago but still have a Root Beer from to time to time. I have not missed a hangover since.
