Sounds like a set of supports, maybe for a awning, the bed base supports, or perhaps support for the roof? What length and diameter are they?

They are not part of the awning!!! 5 feet in length and about 1/2 inch diameter! I wanna say they may be a safety feature so the roof doesn't come down on us but there is nothing to put them into??

Are they flattened and bent at one end? The most obvious choice is the bunkend supports. From pics I can find online for Lionel PUPs, it looks like one of the ends should be flattened to stick in a slot on the frame, maybe? If they aren't the stock poles, they could be replacements someone made that fit under the bunkends.

No they are very heavy solid poles!! We actually no longer own the Lionel but upgraded to a '95 Explorer by Classic trailers. There is absolutely no info online about this make of trailer. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually!! Going on our first trip this weekend!

Maybe some pictures of the camper and the poles would help.

Wouldn't doubt it's someone's home brew solution to supporting the bed ends.
