Well, we were going to make a few minor repairs on our new-to-us 1999 Coleman Santa Fe. I left to run errands and DH overcranked the roof and, of course, now it won't come down. I've heard it's a pain to fix but I have no idea where to begin. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
I haven't done it myself - yet... Sometimes cranking it up with just a touch more pressure will release the mechanism.
here is a link to the Coleman lift system repair guide http://rvworkshop.com/Coleman_Lift_Systems.pdf It is 70 something pages long but there is a trouble shooting guide toward the end that might be helpful. Good Luck.
I thought one of the 'features' of the Coleman lift system was you could not crank it too high! "we don't need no stinking badges stop cable"
Whew - it's fixed. Thanks, everyone! SamtGrizz - I found your website when I was googling lift systems. Great site -- it's bookmarked and I saved the manual on my computer. Stay tuned for the next newbie pup owner calamity!
