    Hello from NC everybody.

When reading through the various forums, I have come across several abbreviations. I have figured out that PUP means "pop-up," NTU means "new to us (or you)," and that DH and DW refer to Husbands and Wives, but what does the "D" stand for? I am assuming that is does mean "dumb!" [;)]

I thought PUP was Pop Up Portal? Humm...Guess I was wrong. I hope more people post abbreviations, because I'm lost on lots of the ones just used here.

Hello - yep those abbreviations are tricky. The one that took me a while to figure out was TV - I kept wondering why people were talking about getting a bigger TV, who wants to watch television when they are camping??? Duh!!! Tow Vehicle, LOL!

The best way to get your point across and avoid confusion is to NOT abbreviate. With the exception of maybe saying "PUP", I don't use the acronyms. To be honest, I'm aggravated by them. [:(!] Some posts are so cryptic and grammatically incorrect, they make me cringe. Notice the "they're, there, & their."
OK, off my soap box. Welcome to the Portal. [:D]

I thought the same thing... LOL

Here's a couple more that aren't unique to this board but used to make me wonder..

    BC- Before Children
IMO or IMHO - in my (humble) opinion
PIOG Posted in other groups, I have seen this more in email groups- especially when listed for sale or wanted items, but I did see PIOB once and thought WTF (LOL I don't need to translate that one do I) until I realized they were saying posted in other boards
