You rock, thanks Two!!
L O L you will get use to it and if you don't oh well have fun and hello from Michigan.
I didnt know there was an abbriviation for this, but I have to admit, I have mumbled this several times.
Here's a good example of abbreviations; Our TV and Pup...
Hi all from Cali 2013 Rockwood 1910 ,03 envoy yea I'm getting to understand the abbreviations too.
I thought "d" in dw and dh stood for da' wife or da' hubby or db da' bears for those Chicago folks.
But also all these abbreviations remind me of a text message that read somewhere and it went like this.
Mother- " son, just wanted you to know your grandma died lol"
Son- "mom do you know what lol means?"
Mother - " lots of love"
Son - "no mom it means laugh out loud"
Mother- " oh my god, I sent that to all my family. I got to make some calls bye"
Here are a few others you'll see frequently.
Agencies managing public lands with campgrounds
NPS = National Park Service
USFS = U.S. Forest Service
BLM = Bureau of Land Management
BOR = Bureau of Reclamation
TVA = Tennessee Valley Authority
COE = U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Other common abbreviations
SP = State Park
NRA = National Recreation Area
NS = National Seashore
CG = Campground
TV = Tow vehicle
NFS = Not for sale
Something I have been seeing lately: "PU" used for pop-up...I'm thinking that's "pick-up" (as in truck) and stick with "pup"!
Don't forget my favorite:
NSFW Not Safe For Work. Used on links that can get you in trouble with the IT Dept.
Now THAT'S funny!
Welcome from Kentucky. Some of the abbreviations can be a bit tricky but you will get the hang of it. Lots of good info on here and if you ever have a question just ask the people on this site are extra nice and very helpful. We are just getting back into camping after several years of not but we are enjoying ourselves and meeting new friends at the campground. Thats what it's all about..
That one is my favorite!!!
Too Funny!!! I need to get a shirt with this on it!
lmao i thought the D was for DAh as in DA-WIFE ..
jokes on me i guess with that one ..
Good Day folks. Glad I found you portal. It has been very helpful. Bought a 1998 Starcraft Venture a month ago, took it out last weekend. All went well.
Whew ..I've done some couponing so I thought I knew all of them ..that TV one took me a few days.. I couldn't figure out how or why people would store an extra key in their T.V.
Y'all are awesome!!
I figured the DW, DH, DS, DD, would kinda depend on the context. the "D" could be a number of things depending on the tone of the post.
IE: The DW broke it again!!!
My DW is an awesome cook!!
I think you can fill in whatever "D" word you feel is appropriate to the feeling of the post.
If I would have found this thread a long time ago, this site would have made more sense sooner!
One I didn't see defined yet was PO - Previous Owner
When I respond to a new member I usually type everything out... to avoid confusing them any more than they already are! I've only been active here for awhile and I still occasionally have to ask the DH (that's 'dear') "what does ___ stand for"?
