Starting camping as a kid with my parents in their 1978 Jayco PUP. After getting married, my parents gave me that old PUP and we took it to Mississippi once, Arkansas twice, New Mexico once and many many trips around Texas. About 12 years ago we got a 1986 22' HiLo trailer, have not left the great state of Texas in it but have made 2 trips to Big Bend National Park's Chisos Mountain campground and a lot of trips in Central Texas and to the Gulf Coast. Starting to think that my old HiLo needs replacing and thinking about going back to a PUP but one with AC/Heat.

Welcome to PUP. I was through Big Bend NP a few years back, beautiful place. And was through Texas this past August during my X-country trek. Just missed the hurricane by a day.

Welcome to the Portal from N/W Fl. Panhandle. I was stationed on the only ship home ported in Texas, home port was Galveston. Had a great time in Texas, lots of things to see and do. You really do need AC and Heat as the temp in Texas can change rather quickly and drastically. Good luck in the search for the PUP that fills the bill for you. Good Luck and Happy Camping

Welcome neighbor - we're in Belton, just south of Temple. We're very new A-frame owners, have only camped at Lake Buchanan once, in cold rainy weather. Baptized by fire! Big Bend is on my destination wish-list ...

We are from Temple. . We have not camped at lake Buchanan yet. If you like hiking, big bend is a must but make reservations around Thanksgiving or Christmas time when the weather is nice. We already have reservations for Mother Neff for Memorial day weekend.
