My husband and I are currently searching for the perfect [PU] for our family of 4. We live in SE Michigan and have always taken our summer trips throughout the state with a tent. We are welcoming having something a little more roomy and comfortable in most weather conditions. We have a deposit on a 2010 Coachman Clipper 1285sst currently. I'm hoping everything works out and we'll be making memories in it. The person selling it seems to be meticulous caring for it and has every piece of paperwork of anything he's done with it. Also, in February we purchased a 2014 Chevy Traverse with a tow package with pulling a pop-up in mind. We are really happy to learn from this Forum and are excited to get the most out of our new toy! Thanks for having me!!

Welcome! I am from MI but live currently in KY. We vacation every year in MI-started in tents, but due to our special super power of choosing the absolute hottest week of the year, we bought a pop up with AC and couldn't be happier! I've learned a lot here-you are in the right place ;)

I've been on both ends of the spectrum with the heat and cold in our tent. I think 2 years ago when we were up at Silver Lake and it got down to 42 degrees my hubby and I both realized that we were over tenting. LOL!

Thank you! Do you know when the rally is? We are hoping to have the camper by the end of this week, if everything works out. :)

The Michigan rally is June 16-18, Check in the rally section of the forum, click on Midwest rallies, and upcoming or planned rallies, and you will find the posting for the 2017 Michigan rally. On the 3rd or 4th page someone posts that they will have to give up their reserved site, I don't know if it is still available, the last time I checked there were 4 sites still available. Enjoy your maiden voyage, hope to see you at the rally.

This *EXACT* situation is why we got our Pup. We were camping at Silver Lake the weekend after Labor day 2015, and absolutely froze. Never again!!
