    Hi guys,

I just found this precious gem of a thread page! We just bought our first PUP, a 1998 Dutchmen 1204. Its already remodeled inside but we have a few other issues we need to address.

    1. When the brakes are hooked up and we are driving, especially on a bumpy road, they short inside the truck. They click on and off.

    2. we have a ripped seam at the top corner of the larger pullout.

    3. The plastic (frp) in the door is cracked and needs to be replaced.

    Any tips would be appreciated!

There are a few other issues but Ive seen some answers in other threads. This is a great resource!

    Grateful to be here,
    Marcella22

Welcome to the Portal from South Carolina. More information is needed for the first issue. No short, shorts blows fuses. You have an intermittent open, on what? The brake controller? Is the controller mounted loose? Power going on and off? Showing a signal to the brakes on and off?

Inside the cab of the truck (2017 tundra) it shows we have a trailer hooked up and with bumps in the road, it clicks off and on like it’s not there. We plan to trouble shoot it tomorrow. We think it may be a short in the wiring. The owners before us left it in the snow all winter :(

doe not sound like a short, maybe a loose connection that is breaking and then making (loose connection or corrosion) My opinion of course

With the brake issue I would start at the 7-way and look for corrosion causing a bad connection
